How do you handle members who want to see more gifts of the spirit at our services?

Never let members dictate parts of the service that are not in your heart. You thank them for their input but tell them what you see. Be gentle and private, “this is what we’re going to do and what we’re not going to do.” Make sure you can tell them why – be clear on the why, it’s not about the what. Ask them to let you lead them and have them trust you, and it’s okay if they don’t agree and want to find another church to be a part of. 

Our policy is, we either all do it or none of us do it. We don’t want to be distracted and turn our focus from Jesus.
