The Spiritual Significance of Practical Principles
Why time management, margin, and rhythms are deeply spiritual stewardship issues.
The Bible emphasizes making the most of every opportunity and every season of time. God works in kairos moments, not just chronos. Chronos is the physical twenty-four hours. Kairos is the appointed moment, and you cannot step into a kairos moment without your life in order.
Church of the Highlands had health and margin built in, which is what enabled us to step into opportunities when they came. You cannot seize opportunities when you are ragged, tired, running too hard, or spending energy in the wrong places.
The big rocks, like daily Bible reading, seem small in the moment, but they are the foundation everything else is built on. Acts 16 says David "served his generation in his lifetime, then fell asleep." That is the goal.
All of this is stewardship. Time is the greatest commodity you possess, and it should be stewarded the same way you would steward a tithe or a gift. One kairos moment with Jesus can rewrite your priorities, your balance sheet, and your legacy.
