Mastering Mornings with Young Children
Building early morning rhythms while raising kids at home.
Most of these morning principles were developed during the season with kids at home. You have to build them then, not later.
Get up earlier than the kids. Have a strict bedtime for them so you and your spouse can have a life together in the evening. On Saturdays, I took the kids to Saturday prayer and breakfast, which gave Tammy two hours to sleep in.
Go to bed early, around 9 or 9:30, so you can get seven to seven and a half hours of sleep and still wake up early. Give up the Netflix binging and the other things that do not contribute to your success.
Train your kids with boundaries. Put a clock in their room and let them know they cannot leave until 7 a.m. Small structures like that protect the morning and teach the kids rhythm at the same time.
