Hiring High-Level Volunteers

How do you know when to move a high-capacity volunteer to a paid position?

  1. Hire slow and fire fast.
  2. Don’t give out titles, especially when your staff is smaller
    - The best filter is to hire or to know that this is someone to be on your team if you can’t afford to not be with you more than they already are.
  3. Pastor Chris hires the people that he doesn’t want to go to their jobs on Monday because he has work for them to do at the church.
  4. Make sure there is a divine flow between you.
  5. Before their hired, set good expectations: relational and practical.
